How To Remove Unwanted Software From Windows 8

There are 5 ways to do this, they are

Through Your Control Panel

When you install any new software onto your Computer, that program is added to a list that is stored in the Windows Control Panel. Which is named Add or Remove Programs

Open Control Panel and then select View: Category. You will  see Uninstall A Program listed under the Programs heading.

Double-click any program in that list to remove it from your PC.

Most programs will be deleted automatically, some may also provide options to repair or modify the program if it isn't working properly. If your first attempt to uninstall a program doesn't work, try again for the second time.

If it still won’t work here is another way.

2. Use Safe Mode

Restart your computer using  Safe Mode, which is  used for  troubleshooting and detecting  various problems with Windows. Holding down the F8 key while you restart your PC, and select  'Safe Mode' from the screen that appears.

Then head over to the Control Panel and try removing the program again while still in Safe Mode.

3. Reinstall To Uninstall

If none 1 and 2 options didn’t  works then, here is number 3.

Run the installer program again with the original disk or the original downloaded file for the program. Some installers include an option to repair or modify the program, which may solve the problem if the program is not working properly.

Another added advantage is that running the installer again may also give you the option to completely remove the program as well.

You can also try the support forum for the software to see if there are instructions for uninstalling the program.

4. Locate The Software

Go to desktop, find the software icon, right click then select ‘open file location’
A window appears, find the ‘uninstall’ or anything of that sort and click on it. You can even delete the entire content on that folder after uninstalling.

5. Use third party software

If all this fails to work, which is not likely, if  it happens then it  is time to turn to third party software that will help you remove troublesome programs. Such as IObit Uninstaller which is a  free software tool that is general-purposed  works with most types of programs.

Among the things this program does include
Provides convenient lists of all recently installed programs, as well as large programs that are taking up a lot of space, or old programs that you don't use very often.  (very good for beginners)

A Forced Uninstall option that allows you to locate individual programs or files and completely wipe them out. (very good for advanced users)
