9:05 AM

This is a simple yet effective method to set up or configure any Android smartphone without hitches. Whether it's Samsung Galaxy S5, S2, or the Android HTC, whichever Android device you use it has a layout, layout for what? Layout for configuring or setting up it internet access, that is making it to browse the Net. Every Android has important thing, a very important setting you must tweek, this setting goes along with the sim network. So whether you use Straight talk, Vodafone, MTN, Glo, Airtel, Etisalat, or any network carrier the layout doesn't change and that important setting don't change also. so what is the important setting? it is nothing other than APN.

APN for Android Known as access point name, is the gateway that connects your Android smartphone via the network carrier to the internet. APN virtually connects three things (3) together, your phone, the network (or simcards), and the web. The APN is an essential cog in this threesome, which means without the APN there will be no internet for your Android; but without the APN there will still be the internet for others. So for you and your smartphone access point is essential. APNs are provided not by phone manufactures like Nokia but by network carriers like Vodafone. To find out your network APNs search for it using the search bar below, or see below for some APNs.

APN resources

I'll update this with specific APN for major networks around, just keep in touch with here. Meanwhile Let us see how to set up the APN proper.

Configure APN settings for Android

Open your phone’s menu and click settings >> Nevigate to Wireless and Networks >> Mobile Networks
2. Tap or click on Access Point Names (APNs) >> click on the menu button, select New APN
3. Click APN and input the correct APN for your respective network (refer to APN resources). Click on APN type and select internet.
4. Go back and select use packet data. Select yes when prompted with the dialog box.
5. Make the new settings your default internet settings and save.
6. Start surfing the net. But make sure you have internet subscription enabled.

For example I use Vodafone as a carrier and Vodafone APN maybe > browse, now I'll substitute APN name with browse and set others up then save.
